Eurohockey has announced the Technical Delegates for the Belfius EuroHockey Championships 2019. Elisabeth Fuerst (Austria) and Rogier Warris (the Netherlands) will manage the Belgian tournament.
Rogier Warris is currently active as an umpire in the Netherlands and is over the moon with his appointment. "I can only compare it to a little boy's dream in which the coach of the national team calls him to play in the Europeans! To be TD of this tournament was a dream of mine and the last couple of years I have worked hard to fulfil this dream. And now I still can't believe it is really happening. I am very honoured and cannot be more grateful to the EHF for their trust in me."
Elisabeth Fuerst is also very happy to write European hockey history. "I am so pleased with the choice of the EHF! It is always an honour and a pleasure to be selected as an official at a top event like the Belfius EuroHockey Championships 2019. This way I can contribute to our wonderful sport. During the past decade the EuroHockey Championships have made many steps forwards from being a hockey tournament to becoming a whole-package sports and entertainment event for a broad audience. So I am definitely looking forward to be part of it and to make a new big step forward. The fact that the tournament is taking place in Belgium enthuses me even more, because through the years I have visited a number of tournaments in this country, to all of which I have beautiful memories."
